TARGET FIELD

Minnesota Twins (2010-present)

Target Field is a baseball park located in Minneapolis, Minnesota that is the home of the Minnesota Twins, the city's Major League Baseball franchise. It is the franchise's sixth ballpark since its start as the Washington Senators in 1901, and the Twins' third in Minnesota after 28 seasons at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, marking the first facility built specifically for the Twins, as Metropolitan Stadium was open four years before the Twins came to Minnesota and had been used by the minor league baseball Minneapolis Millers, while the Metrodome was built as a multipurpose stadium for the Twins and the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League as well as home for University of Minnesota football and baseball programs, the latter on a part-time basis.

The first game at the ballpark took place on March 27, 2010, with a college baseball game between the University of Minnesota and Louisiana Tech. Louisiana Tech won the contest 9-2. The Twins played two preseason games against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 2 and 3, and their inaugural regular season game was played on April 12, 2010 against the Boston Red Sox.

Unused 4" x 6" continental size chrome postcard.
