Home of the San Diego Padres since 2004

Since Petco Park debuted in spring 2004, this former industrial/warehouse section of San Diego has undergone a profound transformation.  Along with the nearby Gaslamp Quarter and Convention Center, the East Village neighborhood adjacent to the ballpark is now one of the most popular visitor destinations in the city.  Large and small hotels, condominiums, office buildings, restaurants, shops and "green space" form an attractive cityscape beyond center field.  This scene: December 30, 2010.
