Product Description

EAB PARK

GRB-940

Suffolk County Sports Park is a 6,002-seat baseball park in Central Islip, New York that hosted its first regular season baseball game on May 14, 2000, as the tenants of the facility, the Long Island Ducks, took on the Aberdeen Arsenal. It was built as to house the Ducks baseball team, though the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse used the park for some of their home games during the 2001 season. The 2001 and 2010 Atlantic League All-Star games were played here.

On July 17, 2001, Citigroup acquired European American Bank (EAB) for $1.6 billion and $350 million in preferred stock. The acquisition resulted in a name change from EAB Park to Citibank Park.  Citibank ended its corporate sponsorship of the venue in the spring of 2010.  A new name or sponsor has not yet been identified.

The stadium name is Suffolk County Sports Park until a sponsor can be found.
