FM2A, 61345

BC PLACE STADIUM:  BC Lions (CFL) (1983-present) Vancouver Whitecaps (NASL) (1983-1984) Vancouver (MLS) (2011- ) Vancouver Nighthawks (WBL) (1988) XXI Olympic Winter Games (2010) Grey Cup (CFL) – (1983, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1994, 1999, 2005, 2011)

BC Place has been the home to the CFL's BC Lions since 1983, and will serve as the site for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. It was built in part to attract a Major League Baseball team in the 80s and 90s, but no MLB expansion to Vancouver has occurred. There are plans to refurbish the stadium and install a new retractable roof by 2011.

GENERAL MOTORS PLACE: Vancouver Canucks (NHL) (1995-present) Vancouver Grizzlies (NBA) (1995-2001) Vancouver Ravens (NLL) (2001-2004) Vancouver Voodoo (RHI) (1996)

General Motors Place, commonly known as GM Place and nicknamed The Garage, is home to the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. The arena is sponsored by General Motors Canada. As corporate sponsors are unable to brand sporting venues during the Olympics, GM Place will be temporarily renamed Canada Hockey Place during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, in February 2010.

GM Place was completed in 1995 at a cost of C$160 million in private financing to replace the aging Pacific Coliseum as the main venue for events in Vancouver. From 1995-2001 the Vancouver Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association called GM Place home before moving to Memphis, Tennessee for the 2001-02 season.

Unused 5" x 7" jumbo size chrome postcard.
