JAYCEE PARK
D-86, 68100-B
Pittsburgh Pirates (Spring training, 1954), Florida State League (1940-42)
Jaycee Park existed as a Florida State League venue before the war (1940-1942). It was converted to major league dimensions in 1954 in order to attract the
Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates only stayed one year, moving to Ft. Meyers, FL in 1955 because the city guaranteed them $30,00 in gate receipts for 10 home games.
Jaycee Park was later demolished and the city police headquarters is now located on the old baseball grounds.
